Already registered?

If your business already exists, the first three lines above are work you have done — the name check, the Articles, the EIN. We are not going to charge you for them again. There is a different setup for a business that is already trading, with the audit, your customer list moved across, and your existing site pointed at your booking page.

What we do for a business that already exists →

The state charges its own filing fee

It isn’t our money. We collect it alongside the setup charge and pay the state directly, and we take no markup on it. It’s shown on its own line here for the same reason it’s shown on its own line everywhere else.

Tell us before we file and you get all of it back, including the state's fee — we have not sent it yet. Filing is the moment that changes: the state keeps its fee, and the work it paid for is done, so from then on the$299 is earned. You keep the company either way.

StateFiling feeSetupDue today
South Carolina$125$299$424
Kentucky$40$299$339

Due today is the setup charge plus your state's fee. Your first month of the platform is included in it, and $49 a month begins after that.

What the state charges every year after

Different in each state, and not all of it’s yours. Some we file and pay for you out of the $49 (the KY annual report); the rest is your own tax return. We say which is which, and what actually reaches you.

South Carolina

Nothing annual for most single-owner LLCs.

South Carolina has no annual report for an LLC taxed as a partnership or a sole proprietorship, which is how most single-owner businesses are taxed. Electing to be taxed as a corporation changes that — ask your accountant before you elect it.

Kentucky

  • Annual report$15

    We file and pay this

Included in your $49 a month. It never reaches you.

  • Limited Liability Entity Tax, minimumAt least $175

April 15 each year · Kentucky Department of Revenue

    You file this

What reaches you$175 a year

These are the figures we hold as of August 2026. States change them, so confirm with the agency before you rely on them — and tell us if they have moved, so we can fix it for the next person.

Taxes are yours. Once your business exists, its returns — the LLET, income tax, sales tax, anything else your situation brings — are your responsibility to file. Nothing above is a fee we collect: the amounts are what the state charges, and the ones marked as ours we pay on your behalf rather than bill back to you. We’ll put every date we know about in your compliance calendar and remind you before each one, but we don’t prepare or file returns and we are not your accountant. Get one before your first quarter.

Your city or county may charge a business license fee

Most places license businesses locally, separately from the state, and that fee isn’t included in the $299 — it goes to whichever city or county licenses you, not to us. What it costs depends on your exact address: some charge nothing, some charge every year, and a business a mile outside the city limits often owes a different one from its neighbour inside them.

We won’t guess at it here. Your Licenses and Permits Report names which one applies to you, and we go through it with you on the onboarding call before you owe anyone anything.

And in writing

Cancel whenever you like. From your second month on, we refund the unused part of the month you are in, and we take no processing fee out of it — not on the way in and not on the way out. Because we never charge before a renewal, we are never holding more than one month of your money, so that is the most there is to give back. Your first month is part of the $299 rather than a separate charge, so it isn’t pro-rated.

Each of these is a direct inversion of a term one of the big filing services actually publishes. They are on this page rather than buried in a policy because that is the point of making them.

That is every number we have.

If something here is unclear, ask before you pay us anything. We would rather answer it now than have you find out later.
